An intro track is a good way to my heart. A modern day ‘Dreams’-like track in Nice To Each Other straight afterwards was also a positive. Jazz and Soul are back in the mainstream and this record has personality in abundance. A little simplistic lyrically, but the songs still felt intricately and personally assembled. Some belters like Let Alone The One You Love and Man I Need are well set within the sound and context of the rest of the album. A really impressive effort, I do see how she ended up on telly on New Year’s Eve. Just tailed off slightly so took off a point, especially given it was only short.
