I think the keys, pop drum sound and the ‘don’t stop believing’ Journey style guitar solos that seem to appear in every track undermine this records attempts to be subversive or counter-cultural, especially when you see it next to its contemporaries. Not quite sure how this got its reputation.

Has that old great sounding suede sound at brief points with the unique guitar sounds. Never lingers, found some tracks tedious.
